Reverend Kim Magwire
The Reverend Kim Magwire has been the Pastor of Good Shepherd since 1998.  She earned her BA from Hiram College in Hiram, OH in 1994 and her Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt University in 1997.  Kim was ordained in the Vermont Conference of the United Church of Christ in 1998.  Her special areas of interest and study include process and feminist theologies, environmental issues and creative approaches to spirituality. 
            Kim has served on numerous local and state boards  including; the Women's Center Rape Action Board, the Adolescent Health Center, and Life Savers (a peer to peer teen support organization).  She was the president of the Carbondale Interchurch Council when it made the bold decision to become the Interfaith Council.  She chaired the Unity and Relations Committee of the Illinois Conference of Churches and served on the executive committee of that body.  She has been the ecumenical representative for the Illinois South Conference of the UCC for over 8 years.  She has also represented the conference nationally at UCC Synods and now serves on The World Board.
            Kim enjoys time with her husband Aaron, her son Joey, two dogs and three cats.  She loves all kinds of outdoor activities, water sports.   She appreciates creative and embodied worship, reading the mystics, contemplative spirituality, Dances of Universal Peace, and world travel.
