Meet our new Pastor! Reverend Sonja Ingebritsen

Rev. Sonja Ingebritsen Sonja comes to us from the Plymouth UCC in Oakland, CA. As the daughter of a Lutheran minister, she has been actively involved in church since she was a teenager. During high school, she spent time in Australia as a delegate to the World Council of Churches Conference on Evangelism. Sonja graduated with her BA in Psychology from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA in 1983 and her MDiv at the Pacific School of Religion in Berkley, CA, in 2009.

During the 10 years following completion of her BA, Sonja worked in a variety of social service agencies including Metrocenter YMCA, Senior Services of Seattle, Catholic Community Services, and Simple Justice, which is an ecumenical consortium supporting civil rights for gays and lesbians. From 1995 to 2002 she worked on a variety of fiction and creative non-fiction writing projects. She also worked with program operations for the Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle, WA from 2003 to 2006. She became a Minister-in-Training at Orinda Community Church in 2007 where she remained until 2008. During 2009, Sonja has been working as a Teaching Assistant to Professor Boyung Lee at Pacific School of Religion while finishing her MDiv.
